Taffeta, any potential as a baby name?
No, I'm not planning on the basis of that name in a child, I only saw him in this Site unusual baby names and wondered what people thought of him http://www.2babynames.com/unusualbabynames.shtml Definition: Taffeta (formerly Taffeta sometimes spelled) is one cool soft fabric made from silk or synthetic fibers. The word is of Persian origin and means "twisted woven." It is considered a "high end" fabric, suitable for use in party dresses, wedding dresses, and interiors for curtains or wallcovering. Drawback – sounds a bit like "fetish" and some are made of silk taffeta (not vegan) Tabitha would probably be better.
Haha, Taffeta used to be the name of my favorite girl when I was about 15 years! I loved the way the word sounded taffeta, and thought it was the most beautiful name for a girl – me Taffy loved the idea as a nickname too. Everyone I mentioned it to looked horrified, yet I absolutely adored him. I have come to my senses now though – Although the word taffeta has a very nice sound, I think that sounds very bad taste as a baby name, kind of like naming your baby with velvet or satin. :]
