The term "Berber", all kinds of rugs that are more than two colors. [Edit] Berbers may be circular cutpile, frieze, and others.
History
The origin of Berber carpets dating from the Paleolithic era and have been made by the Berbers in North Africa. The hand spun fabric which created the name of the tribe, and used natural fibers to create layers, blankets and other tissues.

Main / house Berber carpets are still active in an industry many rural areas of Morocco and other North African countries. Many Berber families earn their daily bread, handmade carpets and their sale local markets, or art dealers and tourists. Traditional Berber carpet is completely different from the mass production of modern Berber carpet generally known in the West. They are much more sophisticated and are made of natural materials.

Today There are several types of modern Berber carpets from a variety of materials. Nylon, olefin and wool are the most common materials, and size of loops and cut pile varies for each manufacturer.
