What is the best for the implementation of a database driven website? php5 or ASP.NET?

I ask because I'm building a site powerful robust e-commerce to a friend who had an average company (which became global in time in decades), and instead of forking out $ $ $ A web developer, hes asked me to plan, build and maintain that for him – I'm being paid. I like both web technology however, struggles to reconcile with the possibility of choosing one over the other, there are many happy things that you can do in php, the Similarly, same goes for Microsoft's. NET Framework. I do not know the advantages and disadvantages of both, and its advantages over the other, but im sold the yard ornaments, figurines, African masks, tribal, oriental decor, Authentic Persian rugs, and many things dealing with the occult. Sneaky I feel that ASP.NET is the way forward, such as Microsoft and Microsoft has a lot it's not going anywhere for a while. What should I choose to build this site?

I did not use php5, but I did a bit with ASP.NET and found it extremely easy to learn and easy use. It is true that all ISPs support it, the server software is expensive. However, it is true that it is expensive for you … Microsoft provide versions Express C #, C + +, Web Developer and SQL Server that can be used without licensing restrictions for commercial purposes. I use the commercial versions in the Express versions of work and home, the only thing I miss in the Express version is the editor of macros, but I can live with it.
