Flash memory as an essential digital camera accessory
Digital cameras need removable storage for storing images faster. It must be hard and can withstand the pressure, temperature and water. More information about the storage of memory.
Digital cameras are designed to capture images using an electronic image sensor. It uses a form of removable storage, called flash memory, one of the essential digital camera accessories. Flash memory is a non-volatile (no energy) EEPROM (erasable electrically programmable read only memory) type that can be reused and reprogrammed. It provides fast access time to read the information and images.
Flash memory was invented by Dr. Fujio Masuoka in 1980, about Toshiba. Flash is the name given by Mr. Shoji Ariizumi (colleague, Dr. Hiroshi Masuoka), recalling that the flash of the camera.
Flash memory stores information in a number of memory cells, based floating gate transistors. This is a card case strong enough to withstand the pressure, temperature and water. Can be inserted in a compartment of the chamber. The images are taken and processed automatically. It has a great capacity of 128 megabytes for a number of gigabytes. More photos can be stored in a memory of high capacity storage.
Examples of flash memory:
CompactFlash
CompactFlash is a 50-pin memory card digital camera. It is used in many applications use to interact with PCs, PDAs and printers. Type I and Type II are the physical size two. Some cameras accept Type I Type II is much thicker and has a higher capacity. A common cards TT is the type of memory card Micro Drive. Chip also incorporates a controller. This enables transfer rates higher than the cameras large internal buffer.
CompactFlash was built something similar to Intel's NOR flash memory-based. It has become more formats and less expensive on the market today. Available with 512 MB (megabytes) and 100GB (gigabytes) of capacity. 1 GB and 16 GB are one of the most popular choices North America and Europe.
CF memory card types are more desirable because of its robust design. Withstands damage more physical than other portable storage devices. Lack of protection against other writing devices have in common.
Secure Digital (SD)
Secure Digital is one of the formats of non-volatile memory cards used widely in digital cameras, computers and mobile phones. The slim and compact is about the size of a postage stamp. SD A software decoder allows you to play music and video clips.
SD has been developed by Matsushita, Toshiba and Scandisk. The card is 4 MB to 4 GB, it has a physical size of 24mm x 32mm x 2.1mm, with a DRM standard for SDMI.
SD Cards are compatible with the older MultiMediaCard (MMC). It has a transfer rate of 10-20 Mbytes. It is compatible with at least three modes of transfer. These include fashion a bit SD (data channels separate orders and the transfer format) four-bit SD mode (uses extra pins and reallocated) and mode SPI (subset of the SD protocol is used with microcontrollers).
Memory Stick
A memory device is a type of data storage Sony digital launched in October 1998. It is designed for small digital products because of their compact design. Stick 8MB of memory is available in 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128 MB of storage size.
This guy has a transfer rate of data rates up to 20 MHz, with a connector type 10-pin. A clear switch Protection can be set to remove the blockage or accidental erasure of data recording. It also has original standard protocols for compatibility issues. It includes a family of Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick Micro (M2), Memory Stick PRO-HG.
