Do not dismiss too quickly, however, that if you take the trouble to turn around slowly, you'll be amazed at how it can be transformed by the careful observation and a little imagination in a magnificent residential real. The yellow signs can help to clear the palate "atmosphere, but at least provide a practical guide to what happened in rooms in the palace. ruined, but charming walkways, staircases and spacious terraces point to lifestyle enjoyed by the opulent East, and the complex system Water is an engineering marvel of the fifth century BC. Everywhere there are ingeniously cut channels and deep wells, so that the tap water in all main rooms.
In the extreme northwest corner, there is a toilet next to a deep reservoir, which was once probably much more-luxurious than its modern equivalent could not aspire to be. Below the hill are the baths, saunas with a first known. There were 137 rooms in total.
The path of the first box office led directly to the area identified as the royal apartments, and flights a series of seven steps down in the large open patio is huge and the widespread view Vouni photographed. At its end is a strange carved stone stele resembles an altar, but it was really designed to hold a wheel on tank wellhead. In the center of the stone shaped bulb is an incomplete picture of Athena.
Swedish excavators made a number of conclusions in the palace who testified the luxurious lifestyle of its occupants. In addition to bronze statues and discovered quantities of silver and gold treasures form bracelets, bowls and coins. One local stories Noble said the dinner here and leave behind their silver spoons, and the villagers refer always "the place to eat lords". Much silver treasure was found in an earthen pot, which seemed to been deliberately hidden under a staircase. Part of this treasure, including the Persian-style bracelet snake's head, you can see at the Museum of the party Greek Cyprus in Nicosia.
Beyond the palace area, the highest point of the hill, there is a military point trigonometry, 250 meters above the sea and the meager remains of a temple of Athena, where excavators found several Swedish sculptures, including bronze cow dear, now in the Museum CXyprus.
The very pleasant and welcoming is very encouraging wildlife. Lizards jump feet long on the walls and butterflies happily sunbathe in the corners protected. All around, the yellow flowers Johanniskreuz fragrant shrub, known for its soothing qualities stomach taken as a tea.
