Some models of the most beautiful and inspiring rugs have been created in Afghanistan. The prayer rugs Herat has not only survived the centuries, which has flourished over time.

These prayer rugs originally developed in a region of Persia, now known as the Afghanistan. Century 15, Herat was the center of learning and culture in this region as well as the royal capital of Timur winner. Herat Timur established his capital and his son set up a center of art, literacy and science there. In recent years, the artists of this region have been establishing some of the best works of art in the Muslim world, including some of the art most complex and beautiful calligraphy and the Koran. These beautiful drawings have been adapted by local weavers rugs, prayer rugs and Herat was born.

In developing these carpets in Afghanistan designers adopted some illustrations more frequently in the Qur'an, especially the movement of leaves, vines and palmettos seen. Often, in the illuminations of Quran, vines and little animals made these animals were included in the rug designs as well.

Despite the importance of Herat fell during the later empires, carpet Herat has survived until today. Many large oriental rug designs originated in the old conceptions of Herat, and the influence of the carpet capital can be seen today in other carpet Bidjar and Kashan. The Herat prayer rugs is so useful and beautiful as it was in antiquity.
