How to get a store to accept a return in a special order item?

We bought some furniture for the U.S. baby baby. We selected items that were displayed in his apartment but did not have the color she wanted in her back room. So we had to wait seven weeks asked to come in. Order our wine and we are very satisfied with the quality. I know the few times I tried to return something and custom, I am sending my husband and suddenly they take it back, I think his secret is to never be intimidated, will talk about managers there, and basically go on and on until you take it again just to get rid of it, but only do this if you really feel you are right.
