The list of countries that have provided tacit support to Israel for its imminent launch pre-emptive missile strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities include weapons now: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Turkey, Egypt, and … no-la-United States.
The Saudi government recently conducted drills to ensure that missile defense system does not bring down Israeli aircraft that can fly over its airspace in the near future. This is crucial for any attack by Israel could lead out attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, since the only feasible way of Iran nuclear plant is currently available over a wide swath of Saudi Arabia. However, is safe to assume that, given the headlong progress of Iran's nuclear program over the past two years, alarming self-declaration of Iran as a nuclear state this spring, and Israel's courageous willingness to confront Iran alone, that Bush would not have denied Israel's right to fly over Iraq if still president.
To put this in perspective: the current President refuses to allow the only stable democracy in the Middle East (Israel) to serve as first-line U.S. attack on the sponsor greatest terrorist in the world (Iran), to just let them fly over a country that recently released and submitted to a constitutional system of government (Iraq) so that it can serve as a model for neighboring dictatorships on the edge of the regime change (like Iran).
Ah, you say, but surely Obama has another maneuver Diplomatic sleeve, some non-military means to pressure Iran to abandon its nuclear program and allow weapons inspectors into the country.
In Not really, "the Obama administration has been working to weaken penalties proposed by the U.S. Congress against Iran. Obama says that these injunctions can go too far and anger of our allies.
These are not sanctions imposed by the UN last week, on which we hope to always be implemented, two of the world's largest nations (Brazil and Turkey) rejected and that fade to the point of futility. Which add penalties that would apply not only to U.S. companies and be legally binding on other countries.
The EU has already agreed with the oil and gas sanctions of its own that go beyond good manners UN sanctions. So even the likes of France and Germany go beyond the U.S. to isolate Iran, however, Obama still sees the need to appease our allies.
Americans should be deeply concerned about U.S. foreign policy who refuses to be as supportive of the right of Israel to defend the doctrines of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt.
