Am I crazy for painting my kitchen cabinets oak?

Im remodeling my kitchen with oak cabinets. Im going to the country / primitive look and I want to paint the cabinets a dark blue country, then the sand to give a primitive / antique finish but everybody tells me I'm crazy. I thought the rate of the paint shop was about to fall. Am I really crazy about doing this for my oak cabinets? What is the problem?

Oak had in my another house. I wanted white, but it was a big upgrade price. Since this was a new house, painting is never mentioned them … my husband had thought he was crazy. The house we live in now had wood cabinets, were 70 and obsolete. I painted white and distressed them. We have finished nickel hardware and is again !!!!! GRAN You are not crazy. Go for it. Men love the stained wood … I hate it! I love painted wood. Just be careful, it's a lot of work, but well worth worthwhile. And besides, you are home. If people do not like, not have to come. You can also tell people when they make the house payment, they may complain …. We lol was to paint department at Lowe's. We said what we were doing and we sold a great primer. It is oil based, but after it dries, you can use any type of paint, oil or latex. It seals very well. Good Luck!
