How I can title of an old motorcycle in Michigan?
M12 I have a 1964 Suzuki motorcycle that I bought from a friend. This is a rare and super bike JUST completed a full restoration on it. He was provided with a bill of sale, but this bike has never been titled in any state (it is a 50cc motorcycle, but it is a motorcycle, moped). I really like to have this bike legally on the road this season. Most parts are no longer available, and had to be done by hand, so it is mostly a custom bike. How I can get this bike called? Do I go through a certification agency?
Call to DMV and they will tell you. However, it can cost some money to run a trace on it. Better hope it never was stolen between 1964 and the owner before his friend, because if one can be forced to return to its original owner. That's a lot of work that could be forced to resign, but you should have clinched the title was free and clear before you buy.
